Initial Assessment

Find out exactly what is holding your performance back.

Most advanced speakers already know enough English. What limits them is demonstrating it consistently, under pressure. The Initial Assessment is a 60-minute diagnostic session that shows you where your performance stands across the Four Pillars — Flexibility, Natural Expression, Organisation and Composure — and what to work on first.

What happens in the session

01

Goals and background

10 minutes

We talk about what you are working towards, your timeline, any previous exam experience, and where your communication tends to break down.

02

Live performance assessment

35 minutes

You complete speaking tasks matched to your goal: CAE or CPE speaking tasks, or a high-level professional discussion. I observe how you perform, not just what you know.

03

Feedback

15 minutes

You leave the session with my first observations against the Four Pillars and a clear recommendation for what to do next.

What you receive

Within three working days, you receive your Speaking Performance Profile: a written report that rates your performance on each of the Four Pillars, identifies your three main strengths and three development priorities, and sets out a recommended pathway.

It is the same structured report every client receives, so you can see exactly where you are now — and, at the end of a programme, exactly how far you have come.
